Yup, it's snowing

It's October 16, 2009 in Andover, Massachusetts and it is snowing.

Time to break out the winter jackets and the gloves.

A little early, don't you think?

Kitty surely thinks so....

He's all curled up on the couch like this, staying warm....

I'm off to Rhinebeck tomorrow (no, Michael is not coming).

Stay warm and Happy Knitting!

Be warned, my stash is well guarded and shall increase in size!

Clapotis Progress

This is pretty slow going....but it is going to be worth it.

There is officially no way I will finish this before Rhinebeck (5 days). I would have 4.5 days to knit and 1 to block. There is no way. I am saying this to convince the crazy voice in my head that says maybe you could do it. Then I realize I am still on the first of 13 repeats of the twelve row repeat straight section. 36 rows per day? Maybe if I didn't have a jury trial on Wednesday. Maybe if I didn't have a bench trial on Tuesday. Maybe if I didn't sleep.

Maybe, maybe, maybe.

Here it is now.

I just dropped the first stitch to create the first line of dropped stitches.

See? It's a fuzzy drop stitch section.

Kitty says, don't expect me to help.

I am busy sleeping. Stop bothering me with your flash lady!

Happy Knitting!

The Old and the New

Here is the old project, soaking...This yarn (Cascade Eco Wool Plus) ran like crazy. I spent 30+ minutes rinsing it and it still was running a little. I just couldn't rinse any more.
This is 15-20 minutes in...
The water never ran clear. Here it is blocking.
Here is the new project: A clapotis (Knitty, Fall 2004) in Brooks Farm Ellie: Color: E8?
Finally, another new thing: proof that we actually use the new Kitchenaid Stand Mixer.
Happy Knitting/Baking/Cooking, whatever your hobby!
